The terms “full-scale interior design” and “full-service interior design” are often used interchangeably. However, they can have slightly different connotations depending on the context. Here at Amy Horany Interiors, we consider ourselves a full-scale design studio as opposed to a full-service firm. In this article, we’re going to break down the differences between the two.
Full-Scale Interior Design
Full-scale design typically refers to a comprehensive approach to designing a space. This means covering everything from conceptualizing the design to overseeing its execution.
Full-scale interior design often includes creating detailed floor plans, choosing furnishings, lighting, color schemes, materials, and finishes. In short, full-scale designers coordinate all aspects of the design process, from the initial vision to the final touches.
Full-Service Interior Design
Full-service interior design goes a step further by offering a complete, end-to-end service. In addition to executing the design, full-service firms might also oversee and manage the construction site, product ordering and tracking etc.
This might include managing the project’s logistics, timelines, and budget, ensuring that everything comes together smoothly.
IN CONCLUSION
In conclusion, full-scale interior design is more focused on the design itself, while full-service interior design encompasses both the design and the project management/implementation of the design.
